Free-entry places and events in Tyler. The rose garden and city parks don’t charge. The zoo, the state park day-use fee, and the Rose Museum do.
Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, 420 Rose Park Drive, Tyler, TX 75702. Admission is free. Fourteen acres, over 38,000 rose bushes, about 600 cultivars. Peak bloom is April and October, weather depending. Garden hours are daily sunrise to sunset. The Rose Garden Center is Monday–Friday 8–5, Saturday 9–5, Sunday 1–5. The Tyler Rose Museum is not free: $3.50 per person. Picnics are allowed; no grilling or open flames. Leashed pets are OK in the garden; only service animals in the Center. The pond is currently under maintenance, per the city page. City parks are free: Lindsey Park, Faulkner Park, and Bergfeld Park. Faulkner’s sprayground runs in summer 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with an activation timer. Walking the city trail miles is free.
Rose City Farmers Market is free to enter. Every Saturday April through November 2026, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., ETX Brewery parking lot, 221 S. Broadway Ave. Winter: 2nd and 4th Saturdays of December, January, February, and March, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s a producer-only market. Walking the downtown square and Broadway is free. No ticket, no gate.
Seasonal and free, when they’re on: Tyler Parks Movies in the Park at Bergfeld is a free summer series. Don’t treat last summer’s dates as this week. Not free, so you don’t get surprised: Caldwell Zoo; Tyler State Park day-use (check TPWD for the current fee); and the Tyler Rose Museum at $3.50 a person. The garden outside the museum is still free.
