About The 1.2 mile concrete trail at Rose Rudman is a beautiful setting for jogging, walking, biking and roller-blading. You can also bring the family and picnic under our tall shade trees, or relax with a good book. Follow the trail south of Shiloh Road and it will lead you to Tyler's Southside Park, which is a great place for children to play. Southside Park is located just south of the intersection of Shiloh Road and Donnybrook Avenue. Parking is available on the street adjacent to the park and in a parking lot on the far south side of the park off of Rieck Road. This popular park features picnic areas, restrooms, pavilions, a large playground area, and hike and bike trails. New ADA accessible playground equipment was installed in 2019 thanks to Tyler Area Ambucs.

This world-famous Rose Garden features 14 acres, thousands of rose bushes, and more than 300 varieties of roses & 600 beds. At Tyler State Park, you can boat, fish, swim in the lake, hike, mountain bike, picnic, camp, bird watch and study nature. Whether you visit for an afternoon or a weekend, you will find plenty to do here. Explore the Pineywoods on more than 13 miles of trails. Don’t miss the Whispering Pines Nature Trail, laid out more than 80 years ago by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Fish the lake for crappie, perch, catfish, or bass. The park has a floating fishing pier and a boat ramp. You can also borrow fishing rods, reels, and tackle boxes as part of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Tackle Loaner Program. Remember, you do not need a fishing license to fish from the shore in a state park. You can rent a boat year-round or bring your own. The Texas State Park Store rents canoes, paddleboats, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and johnboats. Campsites, cabins, or screened shelters are available for overnight stays.

Woldert Park is located on 32nd Street, adjacent to the Glass Recreation Center. This large park offers picnic areas, restrooms, pavilion, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a baseball/softball field. The park includes hike and bike trails, a fishing pond and more. The sprayground is currently being renovated.
