Emmett J. Scott Park (formerly Lincoln Park) is located near the intersection of Confederate Avenue and West Vance Street. This neighborhood park includes picnic areas, pavilion, restrooms, playground, baseball/softball field and a basketball/multipurpose court.

Faulkner Park opened to the public on April 18, 2001. The park is named after Mr. Robert Faulkner who donated land for the development of the community park. Great Harvest has been baking bread the way it ought to be from the beginning, and we still believe in our phenomenal bread-making process. We still believe in using pure, simple ingredients. We still bake everything from scratch. And we still fresh mill our 100% whole grain flour every day. Baking from scratch was the norm for our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and so forth. They were concerned about food tasting great and nourishing their family’s bodies. So is Great Harvest. As generations have passed on, our world has turned to cheaper, easier, less time-consuming methods of preparing food and has removed the handmade, healthy element of baking and cooking.

Conference Room The main level of the Conference Center has the capacity for 2,100 in conference/worship configuration with chairs only, or 1,200 seated at round tables. The front half of the conference room will hold approximately 2,200 people each in chairs only and approximately 1,184 people at 5-foot round tables. The back half of the conference room is divisible into two rooms, one with an approximate capacity of 300 in chairs only and 216 around tables, and the other of 700 in chairs only and 400 around tables. Presentation Area The Stage in the main level of the Conference Center is capable of hosting speakers, conference presentations, musical groups, and even an orchestra. Smaller video projection screens on each side of the stage provide support information for the presentation or worship experience, and a large projection screen on the stage itself is capable of presenting a “life-size” recorded image or a live broadcast of a speaker directly from the Worship Center. Parking Deck The CrossWalk Conference Center is coupled with a two-level Parking Deck with parking for approximately 500 vehicles. Direct access to the Conference Center is available on three different levels from the Parking Deck and ground level parking. Worship Center Access The Conference Center is attached to the Worship Center, with direct indoor access to the first floor and balcony levels of the Worship Center. Since the Worship Center is also attached to the Lighthouse and Preschool Buildings, it will be possible to enter any of the three buildings through handicap-friendly entrances and move throughout the entire complex without ever going outside, or, thanks to the strategic use of ramps and elevators, having to use stairs.

Greenberg Smoked Turkeys was founded by Sam’s grandfather, Samuel Isaac Greenberg, a Polish immigrant who landed at Galveston in 1903, at the age of 17. He made his way north to Tyler, where he established a modest dairy farm. Back in Poland, his mother had passed down the Greenberg family recipe for smoking birds.

With a deep understanding of and appreciation for historic buildings, two local investors purchased this property in 2020 with a vision of restoring the 1932 Art Deco building to its nostalgic beauty, although it had been disguised since its 1980s renovation. Designed and constructed in 1932 by local businessman and dairyman John L. Campbell to accommodate street level retail tenants and second level apartments, the building is lauded as one of the few remaining Art Deco / Art Moderne structures still standing in Smith County. The original tenants, Eisen’s French Market and the Parisian Beauty Salon, were typical of that time and they remained until the building was purchased by Gerald Mann, former Texas Attorney General, in 1946. Once purchased, it was converted into the Dixie-Sunshine-Trailways bus station and the Art Moderne style addition, highlighted by the curved, glass-block windows on the second level, was constructed. Through several mergers and acquisitions, Greyhound Bus Lines became the owner, and it was during their proprietorship that the 1980s renovation took place. Although metal panels added to the exterior during this renovation were unsightly and removed during the 2020 restoration, they can take credit for preserving the beautiful brick and stone façade lying underneath. Countless stories of people traveling through the bus station going to war, visiting family around the state, heading off to college, attending summer camps, as well as other significant memories for the people of Tyler and East Texas have been told. Honoring those memories and the rich history of the building, great pride and attention to detail has been taken to restore the Tyler Union Station / Campbell building and the property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 19, 2023. From its original design serving Tyler and East Texas locals via retail and living spaces, to its next life as a bus station for transients, this historically relevant building has always been centered around people and is bridging the past and present by serving both locals and travelers today.
